LO3 - Risk assessment and recce form
Risk Assessment
I have made a risk assessment to ensure that the filming and creation of the television advertisement will be a safe process to all of those involved, with action plans in place encase anything goes wrong that could go wrong.
Recce Form
This is a Recce sheet that I have made for my television advertisement, this will make sure that the television advertisement will be produced in a safe manner that will have a clear guide to it, so it will be fully produced.
LO3 - Production plan and budget
This is essential if everything is going to run smoothly with my product and will be released in time. By going through each stage when I have set it I won't tire myself by setting too many tasks in a single day but I also won't be leaving anything to change.
Budget
A budget is crucial to make sure that my entire costs will be dealt with and I won't go over budget, therefor ensuring how much money my company needs to make to generate a profit and then eventually expand.

Regulatory bodies
The ASA is controlled by legislation. They are an independent regulator which monitors the advertising of all media within the UK. They have specific advertising codes which prevent advertisements which contain harmful, misleading or offensive advertisements from being published within the media.
The ASA ensure that all adverts which are shown on TV and in print-based advertisements are honest and reliable to ensure that the public isn't mislead in any way. The ASA's senior management team is in charge of deciding which advertisements have breached the advertising codes set by the ASA. The ASA work with independent experts and other regulators to ensure that they have the best standards possible for all adverts visible to the public.
In order to make sure that my advertisements are able to be published on TV and as print-based advertisements I will need to ensure that they have no harmful, misleading or offensive material.
My campaign will follow all of the rules set by Ofcom by ensuring that there will be no offensive material in the advertisement. If there was to be adult content in the advertisement then it would have had to be played after the watershed, which is not applicable for the purpose of this campaign. As the advertisement will be played throughout the day I will need to control the language used on the advert so that they aren't offended. When producing the advertisement I will need to make sure that I do not use any offensive language.
Copyright law is concept, which provides the creator exclusive rights to their work. It ernsures that other people or organisations are unable to steal their work or claim that it is their own. In order for other people to use their content they would need to gain permission directly from the original creator. This is ideal due to the nature of my idea which involves creating original ideas and trying to be ahead of the other competition, while always looking for unique ways to advertise and advance my product in the field it is in.
All advertisements must be truthful and are not allowed to mislead the viewer/reader in anyway. In many adverts this appears in the form of small print, as long as the information provided is accurate and correct then the company won't find themselves in trouble for false advertisement. Any actors in the TV advertisement must have agreed to take part by signing a release and consent agreement before filming or recording any audio. This will be ideal for me due to the fact that i am selling a physical product and misleading what the product can do will be very costly and could result in quite a few legal troubles for me. Also my advertisement will have actors in it using the controllers to play games with. False advertisement can be very costly and will be something I will have to carefully look over.

LO2 - Advertising campaign schedule
This is a gantt chart which I created in order to have a strong understanding of what would needto completed before which deadlines for my advertising (series of actions to reach a goal). Also itlabels the dates which the print advertisement and TV advert would need to go online in order tobe out there for people to see before the products release date.
In terms of time scales, the project will last the from the 4th of April to the 5th of May with keypoints and launch dates in-between. The gantt chart as shown breaks down the project andshows which actions will need to be completed for the clearly stated/particular deadlines.
TV Advert
The (sound and video) advert will be placed out towards Christmas (November, December) of 2016 . The release date of the first set of controllers will be December 6th which will allow for one of the main (information about people/combinations of different kinds of people) of parents and Christmas gift shoppers to buy a custom controler in time for Christmas. The advertisements will start just over a month before the release of the game in order to provide time for the ABC1 audience to be able to afford to use their (extra income you can spend on fun things) on the game.
The TV advertisement will be launched on public TV on appropriate channels such as E4 and ITV, as these are channels which other game related companies such as Rockstar have (told people about a business)/(told to people) their previous game titles on. The advertisement can be shown throughout the day as it isn't a a violent or offensive product that could cause any harm. The peak time for my advertisement will be 7-10pm as it is the time that most people in my target audience watch TV and the majority of people will tune in.
The TV advertisement will be produced at UTC Sheffield, as all of the content is a video of the controllers, and people using them. The TV advertisement will be distributed on channels like BBC 1, Channel 5 and Channel 4. The controller will be released a few weeks later in order to create a certain amount of hype for the audience, which will hopefully create a fair amount of anticipation for the product.
Ofcom is the communications (device that controls something/group of people that ensures rules are followed) in the UK. They ensure that all the content that appears on television will be appropriate for an audience during prime time viewing this means that there cannot be any swearing or 'adult' content in the advert. Also, I will need to make sure that any content which is shown on the advert is mine and that I have permission to use any copyrighted music I use it for the advert.

Print-based Advertisement
In relation to media, the print-based advert will be launched before the TV advert and will be put forward in October/November time to get the core audience that I think will purchase the product can pre order their controllers in an adequate amount of time and The print-based advert will be placed in relevant media such as gaming magazines like Xbox Official Magazine and Playstation Magazine.
The Advertising Standards Authority is the "UK’s independent regulator of advertising" across all media. They apply advertising codes to all media, which defines the level of misleading, harmful or offensive content that they contain. With my print based advertisement I would need to stick to the rules and regulations set by the ASA to ensure that I do not offend anyone with my magazine advertisement.

LO2 - Task a.) Proposal
The Print Based Format
The aims and objectives of this promotional flier are to help inform people about McDonald’s new burger and offers. The objective of this is to make McDonalds feel like they are a good "for the people" type of company with offers of a free premium chicken sandwich and other deals. The idea of the images on this are to make the person looking at the sandwiches want one. The whole goal of this promotional campaign is to get people to go into McDonalds and buy food, I feel like the people marketing this way feel like they will attract people in with the free sandwiches but the people will have family’s that they will have to also buy food for, and notice how they don’t come with a free drink or how it isn’t a meal they are offering. This is all to make people have to buy the other things they may require due to the fact McDonalds sandwiches are filled with salt that will make people thirsty, in the long run it’s cheaper to buy an actual meal. But having to buy several things separate will increase their profit.
The Television Advertisement
The television advertisement just like the flier is all about how McDonalds are all for the people and are simply here to help people out and aren't a corperate monster like people claim them to be. They have done this in a way that involves a "real" family singing and then they have added a graphic almost advertising a competition that says "Could your singing make our Christmas Day advert". I feel like part of the idea and aim with this particular advert involves some synergy between McDonalds and the television network it appears on (probably ITV). The way that they have achieved this is by adding this competition at the end that they are hoping as many families as possible will enter into it therefor resulting in them tuning in to the channel on christmas day to find out if they have won, and around christmas it is a huge competition between these television companies to get the most viewers because thats when television viewing increases by a considerable amount. This really benefits McDonalds because they will have got paid a little bit of money from the company, it also benefits McDonalds with the fact it still makes them come across as a family friendly company which the poster also aims to do. Also by having the money McDonalds has this will be shown at prime imd viewing which is about 6pm or during soaps which start at about 7:30 so the promotion that they will be getting off this advert is great, but I doubt people viewing this won't have ever heard of McDonalds before. But this advert may give people a fresh view on the company and how they actually are friendly, the reason that they may want to do this is because of things that portray McDonalds in a really negative light documentaries like Super Size me hasn't really helped McDonalds image to the average person. "McDonalds aren't that bad" is the image they are trying to portray within this advert since the entire family is smiling, singing and having a general good time, so they are really trying to sway the concerned mother demographic.

The Print Based Format
The target audience for this I would say is an ABC1 audience, people that can actually afford to go to McDonalds. I would say McDonald’s main audience with this particular flier is for a family that are a little tight for money, but once they see the fact they can get something for free they will go to McDonalds, get their free sandwich and then buy some food for the rest of the family (including a drink for themselves) therefor McDonalds will be making a profit and not a loss of giving away free food. I would also say that they are targeting students with this flier, due to the fact students can already get discounts at McDonalds this single free sandwich would be appealing to them. The fact that they would also have to buy a drink too just helps increase the profit they could make off this. This is also an ideal way of attracting new customers for people that aren’t really interested in McDonalds, some free food is a good way to attract a lot of people into a place of eating. Especially in today’s economy with it always being pushed in the news how we are doing a fine balance with our economy and it could tip at any second.
The Television AdvertisementThe target audience for this I would say are entire families which is similar to the target audience within the flier, but unlike the flier I don't think this could solely appeal to a student demographics it shows a happy family. The appeal to this poster I think would probably be parents, with a few children to show them that McDonalds is great for the entire family. The good thing about advertising to families is that if you succeed in attracting them they will be buying enough to feed an entire family therefor making you more money than just a teen.
